I stayed too long once 16/30

Dancing in the naked stars of what could be creating constellations of what 

almost was 

bathing in the milky way 

of our desires 

I wished 

upon 

every 

star

The ones 

where our eyes met 

promises unmade 

love and forever unsaid 

assumed 

but I forgot 

that /

these stars 

were dead 

thousands of years ago 

/this love may have been past life

 /not present 

/maybe just maybe 

I stayed too long 

trying to revive a galaxy 

with no more life 

to give 

traveling within light years 

never reaching 

Today nor tomorrow 

so I took flight 

back to earth and 

re-grounded myself down to my core
